I don't know what Daiki was experimenting with.

Its a 2D drawing API http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cairo_(graphics).  Wayland 
does not have any drawing API so you could use Cairo. You can also use 
something else, more or less whatever you choose.  Wayland leaves all that up 
to the application.
