Me too.  But that's the case with any markup language I've been in touch
with.  I forget what it's supposed to look like after a couple of
months, so I just cargo cult some markup from other sections, and I'm
off.

If I do something bad, like use @xref istead of @pxref, magical elves
suddenly appear and fix it.

Texinfo isn't any worse than other markup languages.  All modern markup
languages have a really pretty way of generating the "Hello world"
document, but once you start in with the indexing and cross referencing
and and, it always turns complicated and ugly.
