Then maybe this is not the place to pretend you know what I know about
jQuery either? We are just talking about the compatibility layer here.

I stopped using jQuery some years ago because it crashed mobile web
browsers (memory problems I guess for more complicated things). There
are still compatibility problems for simple things like we are talking
about here, but unless you are in a hurry you can just wait to see
them fixed.
