macroexp-let2 is written in a very strange way, computing
a value for ,var, then testing ,var to determine whether
to bind a variable to the value of EXP or use EXP directly.

If there is a reason for this, I don't see it -- so that reason
ought to be explained by a comment.

If there isn't a reason, why not write it in a clearer way?
