Indeed, it's really nice progress; thanks Joakim! I'm having an issue too, 
however:

Running xwidget-webkit-browse-url yields `read-string: Symbol’s value as 
variable is void: xwidget-view-list`.
And then I can't exit emacs: all commands yield that message.
