I don't think anybody is suggesting that.  :-) I think this all started
with "how come we're changing the way we're supposed to develop?"  I.e.,
having three "must have" branches that we're supposed to be working on
instead of two, as we've had for all these years.

(And in addition, there are always feature branches for big, complex,
breaky stuff.  See xwidget, ffi, async-dns, etc.)
