Thanks. I'll pushed a removal commit to a branch, and will merge it soon.TBH, removing it altogether is rather sad, given that the first two elements constitute a reasonable solution. Even so, we have a better solution in sight for at least one of them, and I don't see a good migration path from here to there, in the next Emacs version.
