In Bug#28156 I propose a minor change to how Emacs treats local symbolic links.Currently, Emacs silently munges their contents sometimes, contradicting thedocumentation. I'm proposing that Emacs leave the contents alone. As this is anincompatible change to behavior, I'm giving a heads-up to emacs-devel. Pleasefollow up on the bug thread, archived here:
