Yes, all that history has been painstakingly preserved (by ESR, if
I remember properly) when we converted to Git.

The imperfections in the Git history are mostly carried over from the
imperfection of the data in the CVS repository.

Maybe it can be of use to some, but I can't remember the last time
I really used them.
