There's no need to revisit, from where I stand. It is quite clear
this community as a whole thinks that having the port as part of Emacs
is more important than the potential difficulties and issues it could
create.

Once Someoneā¢ confirms that the MinGW and NS builds work on that
branch, you can go ahead and land the branch on master. (But please
be sure to make a proper log message naming all the new files and
changes in existing ones, when you merge.)
