Hi,
I have been busy with redesigning the font-lock faces for org-mode.
The main trigger was a report by Dan Nicolaescu about a better way
to support color xterm and other similar tty-like devices. With
the new system, org-mode should look in color terminal windows
almost exactly like it does in an x-window system.
Doing this I realized that the fonts used by org-mode on color-poor
terminals were really very bad, because I had simply copied the normal
font-lock-faces. For a full-color terminal I had taylored things
to look well, but a b/w terminal looks just awful. This should be
*much*
better now.
It would be great of some of you could try the new version on as many
as possible different platforms: XEmacs and Emacs, under X11, MS
Windows,
console terminals, you name it. I would like to know if the
fontification
is useful and reasonable in all cases or if there are changes to be
made.
The test version (4.24a) is here:

Thanks!
