See section 1.4 of the org manual for some suggestions of what
information to provide.
FWIW, I have no problem customizing the variable - version info:
Org-mode version 6.29trans
GNU Emacs 23.1.50.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.12.9) of 2009-07-06
