Hi,

Now getting an error message: /bin/bash: dot: command not found

Hmm. Pathname issue?

On the mac, dot is in /opt/local/bin/dot
My .emacs file has: (setq load-path (cons "/opt/local/bin" load-path))

I can certainly just open a terminal window and run dot from the command line.

Thanks for any further suggestions.

Hi Bryan,

For generating dot graphics from Org-mode it is now suggested to use a
normal code block rather than org-exp-blocks, for example the following
should generate a graph when pressing C-c C-c on the block, and on
export should include the resulting graph rather than the code block.

from http://www.graphviz.org/Gallery/directed/fsm.gv.txt
#+begin_src dot :file fsa.png :exports results
 digraph finite_state_machine {
         rankdir=LR;
         size="8,5"
         node [shape = doublecircle]; LR_0 LR_3 LR_4 LR_8;
         node [shape = circle];
         LR_0 -> LR_2 [ label = "SS(B)" ];
         LR_0 -> LR_1 [ label = "SS(S)" ];
         LR_1 -> LR_3 [ label = "S($end)" ];
         LR_2 -> LR_6 [ label = "SS(b)" ];
         LR_2 -> LR_5 [ label = "SS(a)" ];
         LR_2 -> LR_4 [ label = "S(A)" ];
         LR_5 -> LR_7 [ label = "S(b)" ];
         LR_5 -> LR_5 [ label = "S(a)" ];
         LR_6 -> LR_6 [ label = "S(b)" ];
         LR_6 -> LR_5 [ label = "S(a)" ];
         LR_7 -> LR_8 [ label = "S(b)" ];
         LR_7 -> LR_5 [ label = "S(a)" ];
         LR_8 -> LR_6 [ label = "S(b)" ];
         LR_8 -> LR_5 [ label = "S(a)" ];
 }
#+end_src
