Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

Emacs suddenly exited with:

X protocol error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) on protocol request 25

[1]+  Exit 70                 emacs  (wd: ~)

As far as I know, I was not interacting with Emacs at the time, and it
was waiting for input.  Possibly I was pasting some Emacs text into an
xterm, as this comment from src/xselect.c suggests to me:

  /* The window we're communicating with may have been deleted
     in the meantime (that's a real situation from a bug report).
     In this case, there may be events in the event queue still
     refering to the deleted window, and we'll get a BadWindow error
     in XTread_socket when processing the events.  I don't have
     an idea how to fix that.  gerd, 2001-01-98.   */

I can try running under GDB with a breakpoint at x_error_quitter in
case it happens again.
