Sure.  The marking avoids bugs from missing gcpros which people seem
to be finding.

I successfully tried it long ago on those systems and it's already
released for SPARC and Alpha lignux.  It's not clear to me that the
risk outweighs the risk of missing gcpros, so I thought it was worth
raising.

It was already on the trunk, except for Solaris.  (I realize the
problem that those platforms don't seem to get tested properly.)

By the way, the gcpro/staticpro fixes for Fapropos_internal on the
trunk aren't in the pretest source as far as I know.
