Crash with images and optimization under MS Windows

This one was discussed in emacs-devel already but I thaught it might
be a good idea to report it here, too.

If you build Emacs CVS head with Microsofts Visual C (Version 6 here)
under MS Windows, including support for external image libraries,
displaying a gif image will instantly crash Emacs.

If you disable optimization, everything works quite well.

In GNU Emacs 21.3.50.1 (i386-msvc-nt5.1.2600)
 of 2003-02-18 on FSK-XP2
configured using `configure --with-msvc (12.00) --no-opt'
