hang after word ending in 'e'... I know, really weird

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

I was editing a .jsp file using jde-mode JDE 2.3.2.  While typing a
comment emacs froze and I had to pkill it.  Upon further
investigation, the freeze happens every single time I am typing in
this comment on this page only and ... here the really strange
part... only after I hit the space bar after a word ending in the
letter 'e'. I swear this is not a prank.  I would have ignored this
but it happens every time.  Please email me if you have any
questions.
