But it seems understood that the end of the string is an OK
termination too, even if this is not explicitly mentioned.
Anyway, without my patch,
(substitute-env-vars "X$T5 ")
gives:
"X$T5 "
even though a space is neither a letter, nor a digit, nor an
underscore.
