In GNU Emacs 21.3.50.4 (alphaev6-unknown-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.2.4) of 2003-10-29 on tcdec3 configured using `configure '--with-gtk'' When using make-frame-on-display, it seems as if DISPLAY is ignored and the new frame appears on the display on which Emacs was started. x-display-list contains the two different displays, and the "display" parameters from frame-parameter are correct.
GTK does not support multiple displays, but Emacs should not crash. I'll try to disable multi-displays in Emacs better when GTK is used. Jan D.
