new style Emacs compile v0.18

Visit this file in a recent CVS Emacs after loading the below-mentioned library:

It shows how Emacs correctly matches more message styles than both Emacsen 
combined ever before.  Multiline messages or multiple messages on a line are 
handled.  Remarks and warnings come in different faces and can be skipped.  And 
line- or column ranges are supported.

A lot has changed and a few odd things may currently not work.  I would be very 
grateful to hear of your experience, especially with some exotic uses of 
compile.  Any comments on the libraries mentioned as potential problem sources 
is especially welcome.
