Splash screen, CVS 21.3.50.1, on Darwin

From: Tim McNamara
Subject: Splash screen, CVS 21.3.50.1, on Darwin
Date: 01 Jan 2004 01:50:57 -0600

Symptoms:

Minor problem: the colorful splash screen does not display under X11
on Darwin 7.2.0/Mac OS X 10.3.2, using Apple's default X11 version.

I built Emacs on 12/31/03 from CVS files pulled 12/30/03, using
Apple's rendition of gcc 3.3. It's normal for the Carbon version to
not support the splash screen; I have had X11 builds show the splash
screen properly, but two separate builds of 21.3.50.1 do not do so
(the previous was built under Darwin 5.5/Mac OS X 10.1.5).

Let me know if you need more information.

In GNU Emacs 21.3.50.1 (powerpc-apple-darwin7.2.0, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars)
 of 2003-12-31 on Stella-Blue.local
