I know that(*), but in this case I take it that it's a special kind of
load that only occurs initially when building from cvs?
*) I started a discussion about it some months ago on the emacs-devel
list but received no satisfactory justification for that policy.
Therefore, considering that the alternative to using those basic
functions (i.e. code duplication in some form) is obviously very
bad, I (generally speaking) find it hard to comply with it.
