Exactly, if they see fit.  Someone who apparently isn't a maintainer
forwarded it.

I don't understand how that could happen with the version I was
reporting on.  Anyway, you're reported to have approved a fix!  This
is pretty confusing even to an expert, and there's clearly a
maintenance problem.
