temp-face- "errorlet" in calendar*.el

This is a somewhat older version of CVS, sorry I can't verify it with
the latest CVS right now.

To reproduce the bug, 

I do: emacs -q -no-site-file -l ~/.tmpemacs

where the file's contents are: 
 (add-hook 'diary-display-hook 'fancy-diary-display)


Then, I do M-x diary, and I see in the *Messages*: 

Invalid face text property value: temp-face- [48 times]

.. and a similar message continues every time you switch buffers or
anything..

This was just a message, not a "error ding", but emacs did have some
minor weird and unpredictable behavior, which is too weird to explain,
but if you are interested:
  I have a fetch-diff-windowed in fetch.el, which runs a diff on the
  diary and the remote version of diary using tramp.  Then it tries to
  show the diff via xxdiff.  If the process has any errors, it falls
  back to the regular emacs-diff.  Once in a while, the process has
  errors and it falls back to the emacs-diff.  Trying to probe the
  error, I saw the above temp-face message.
