I don't think we should avoid it "at all costs", but in the case of
invisible text, I doubt it is that terribly hard.  The feature I added
for invisible/intangible is an example of how we can avoid it without
too much work.

      If we
    need to avoid them at all costs, the design of the bidi display should
    consider this as a constraint as early as possible.

Please do consider this as early as possible.  It mat be impossible
to avoid the problem fully, but it would be very nice to reduce the
occurrence of it.

I agree--if users expect this, then it isn't a problem.
