The visited link color in a web-browser (at least in mozilla) is a very
dark color, and is actually fairly hard to distinguish from the normal
link blue color on my displays. It's dark enough not to be
objectionably saturated.

However, those colors do not work on a dark background, and merely
choosing a lighter magenta color yields something that _is_
objectionably saturated, and the result feels quite different from the
web-browser.

To preserve the `spirit' of the default web-browser colors on a dark
background, I'd suggest using "violet" for info-xref-visited on dark
backgrounds, and keeping the current color on light backgrounds.
