vc-diff problem under Solaris

Symptoms:

If I execute 'vc-diff' on Solaris 9 then I get the following error. It
looks that the '/usr/bin/diff' program does not recognize the -L
switch.

/usr/bin/diff: illegal option -- L
usage: diff [-bitw] [-c | -e | -f | -h | -n | -u] file1 file2
       diff [-bitw] [-C number | -U number] file1 file2
       diff [-bitw] [-D string] file1 file2
