After thinking some more about it, it seems to me the
`query-if-not-space' example should be deleted from the Elisp manual
and replaced by a warning not to put these type of functions in
`pre-abbrev-expand-hook'. If there is a need for such functions
(which I doubt) then `expand-abbrev' would need two hooks:
`pre-abbrev-expand-hook', run at the very beginning, where it used to
be run, and a second one where it is run now. The only current
application of `pre-abbrev-expand-hook' in the Emacs source code is
`sendmail-pre-abbrev-expand-hook'. (I grepped.) It needs the hook to
be run at the old place.
