Some more detail:
Eval this:
(set-default-font
"-Adobe-Courier-Medium-R-Normal--17-120-100-100-M-100-ISO8859-1")
and everything is fine, but eval this:
(set-default-font
"-Adobe-Courier-Medium-R-Normal--20-140-100-100-M-100-ISO8859-1")
and the old vertical-motion bug reappears for me. This is Debian
GNU/Linux testing.
Go back to the first font, and everything is OK again, then go to the
second font, and the bug reappears. The bug can be re-introduced and
fixed at will by changing the font size. Maximizing the frame seems
to have been a red herring.
