After I sent the first bug report, I have noticed that there are a
couple of things I failed to mention.

One is that SKK (a Japanese kana-to-kanji conversion program) was
partly responsible for the problem I described there, though not for
memory leaks. It is when I use SKK that emacs gets slow, but the Task
Manager always indicates that it consumes a much larger amount of
memory than it does when I use Windows true type fonts.

Another is that the patch I sent may be the cause of some memory
access errors that I have had since I applied it. When these errors
occur, the Windows error dialog pops up and emacs immediately shuts
down. Though these errors do not occur very often, it looks like no
particular action triggers them.

I am sorry about these corrections after the first report. I hope it
has caused no trouble so far.
