Wouldn't it be better to write ?\\ anyway, in which case it
should be escaped to ?\\\\ in the docstring?  Also, it might
be wise to rephrase the sentence so that the lispy punctuation
is kept away from any English punctuation, as I did twice in
the previous sentence.
