Making noises when Gnus does certain things -- probably not terribly
desirable.

They seem to be with XEmacs on Debian:
$ locate Evil_Laugh.au
/usr/share/xemacs21/xemacs-packages/etc/sounds/Evil_Laugh.au
I doubt it would be worth chasing their copyright status.
