I just had cause to dig out friedman's vcard.el (for grokking RFC2426
directory information):
<URL:http://www.splode.com/~friedman/software/emacs-lisp/src/vcard.el>.
Gnus has a hook for it, and it seems worth installing. friedman has
assignment on file for Emacs.
I'm not sure whether it could usefully have an entry in mailcap.el.
