    The --help text and NEWS talk about horizontal scroll bars, but `-hb'
    has no effect, at least with the Lucid toolkit.  If they're
    toolkit-dependent, the doc could explain, and presumably the --help
    text should not contain -hb if they're not available.

They were never implemented, so I will remove that from the --help output.
