    I could do, but it's an old version ok Klipper (from Red Hat 9.0),
    and the problem has been fixed (sort of) since.

If they already fixed the bug, we don't need to report it.
How about writing something for etc/PROBLEMS, then?
It can recommend updating Klipper.
