I have been running with the previous xdisp.c and CLEAR_FACE_CACHE_COUNT
set to 2 for a few hours, and got a crash in get_glyph_face_and_encoding
(which I have never got before).  So 

That crash confirmed that the face cache had just been cleared, so
I have a good feeling that my change to xdisp.c is the right fix.

I'll try running with the new xdisp.c and CLEAR_FACE_CACHE_COUNT
set to 2, to see if the error can still be triggered...

If other who have seen the crash will do the same for a few days, I'll
appreciate it (emacs does get a little slower at times with
CLEAR_FACE_CACHE_COUNT set to 2, but nothing dramatic IMO).
