Hello!
This isn't a bug but a (tiny) feature request. M-x ediff-buffers RET
offers the current buffer as one of the buffers to compare:
,----[ M-x ediff-buffers RET ]
| Buffer A to compare: (default test.txt)
`----
M-x ediff-backup RET, on the other hand, does not offer the current
buffer as the file to compare with its backup:
,----[ M-x ediff-backup RET ]
| Ediff (file with backup): ~/
`----
Could this be extended so that it says
,----[ *Suggestion* for M-x ediff-backup RET ]
| Ediff (file with backup, default test.txt): ~/
`----
Then the user just has to hit RET. If the file doesn't exist,
ediff-backup does the right thing already now, it says `ediff-backup:
No backup found for ~/test.txt'.
