Gnus/5.110003 (No Gnus v0.3) Emacs/22.0.50 (gnu/linux) |
This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English if possible, because the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators to read other languages for them.
Your bug report will be posted to the address@hidden mailing list.
Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
------------------------------
This is not so much a bug as a backward incompatibility with no clear
option to go back to earlier functionality:
Using either
M-x find-file RET RET
or
C-x C-f RET
, under 21.3 the original file would be reloaded, as if
(revert-buffer buffer-file-name t t)
had been entered. Under 22.0.50, the default find-file-read-args
prompt is set to the buffer's current working directory, and when RET
is pressed, that directory is loaded in dired.
The following hack fixes the problem, but could interfere with other
find-file variants:
(defun find-file-read-args (prompt mustmatch)
(list (let ((find-file-default
(and buffer-file-name
(abbreviate-file-name buffer-file-name))))
(read-file-name prompt nil find-file-default mustmatch))
t))
Isn't there a better way?
Thanks, Ted
