    Quite often I see "defcustom/defface for `xyz' fails to specify 
    containing group" -- is that something I should mention?

This warning was just added, and many cases were corrected just
yesterday.  Starting next week, if you still see any such warnings,
please report them.

    In speedbar-restricted-move:
    speedbar.el:1607:37:Warning: `string-to-int' is an obsolete function; 
    use
         `string-to-number' instead.

Many of these were just recently fixed too.  Again, if any remain
next week, please report them.

Some files use make-local-hook for compatibility with XEmacs,
so don't bother about those.

The warnings in Gnus need to be looked at by Gnus developers.
Don't worry about sun-fns.el.

I will fix most of the rest now.
