Actually, grep doesn't find the variable in any of the lisp directories or
the src directory. It is not even in the obsolete directory.

over this text or image. See the variable VOID-AREA-TEXT-POINTER
for possible pointer shapes.
However, there are no other occurrences of this name in the manual,
and `describe-variable' does not recognize the variable. Perhaps it
needs to be autoloaded?
