I just tried to compile CVS on my XP machine with MSVC.
It seems that all the makefile files have ^M at the end except the first 4 lines
That is, starting with the end of the line containing -*- Makefile -*-
# Start of settings from configure.bat
COMPILER=cl
# End of settings from configure.bat
# -*- Makefile -*- definition file for building GNU Emacs on Windows NT.^M
- Can't compile with nmake,
RGB <=
