Emacs can't find man page

Hello!

When invoking manual-entry when the cursor is on the F in Font::AFM.3pm 
an error happens and no man page is shown. In the minibuffer 'error in 
process sentinel: Can't find the nil manpage' is reported. *Messages* 
contains:

        Invoking man Font::AFM.3pm in the background
        Please wait: formatting the Font::AFM.3pm man page...
        Font::AFM.3pm man page formatted
        error in process sentinel: Man-goto-page: Can't find the nil manpage
        error in process sentinel: Can't find the nil manpage

The Perl man page exists and can be read in Terminal with man.
