My test goes like this:
in shell buffer 'locate Font::' (/usr/share/man/man3/Font::AFM.3pm
found)
position cursor on the word Font
invoke manual-entry
in minibuffer "Manual entry (default Font::AFM.3pm): " is displayed
I press RET -- failure again
In *Messages* I have:
Please wait: formatting the Font::AFM.3pm man page...
Font::AFM.3pm man page formatted
Man-bgproc-sentinel: Can't find the Font::AFM.3pm manpage
MANPATH is set as:
MANPATH=/usr/share/man:/usr/X11R6/man:/usr/local/man:/usr/local/teTeX/
man:/sw/share/man
