It doesn't exist on my system, so I can't reproduce the problem.
However, I made a change that may have fixed it. Please try
the latest software.

Could be I was too fast, but it does not work yet!

You sent your answer at Sun, 24 Jul 2005 02:01:09 +0200, I fetched the new code from CVS at approximately Sun, 24 Jul 2005 12:30 +0200 ...

My test goes like this:

in shell buffer 'locate Font::' (/usr/share/man/man3/Font::AFM.3pm found)
        position cursor on the word Font
        invoke manual-entry
        in minibuffer "Manual entry (default Font::AFM.3pm): " is displayed
        I press RET -- failure again

In *Messages* I have:

        Please wait: formatting the Font::AFM.3pm man page...
        Font::AFM.3pm man page formatted
        Man-bgproc-sentinel: Can't find the Font::AFM.3pm manpage

MANPATH is set as: MANPATH=/usr/share/man:/usr/X11R6/man:/usr/local/man:/usr/local/teTeX/ man:/sw/share/man
