    The patch below contains the following changes:

    1. Change the default of `custom-buffer-sort-alphabetically' back to nil.

I am not sure that is a good idea.  Both of these alternatives can be
disappointing, as we have seen.  Please don't change this now.
Someone made a different suggestion involving sorting just the groups;
perhaps that is the right way to go.

If we don't want alphabetical sorting, perhaps what we need to do is
rearrange some groups carefully by hand (those important enough to
care?) the way you have just now rearranged one of them.

In any case, I think we should think about this more.

The rest of the changes seem good, so please install them.
