Re: perl mode color highlighting working badly

I applied the patches and tried a few things. Much nicer now.

There are some minor delays (less then 1 or 2 seconds on a 5000 line file)
while it figures things out but everything seems to be colored properly.

I added the " character and jumped to the bottom and it was quite fast in
this mode. No delays notcied. I went back and removed the " and jumped to the
bottom. I minor delay before it went to the bottom and then a minor delay
before the colors came back properly.

There isn't any random places in the file where things are wrong.

I'll watch and report if I see anything funny.
