Thanks for reminding me.  I'll stop worrying then, and find more
interesting things to spend my time on.

How can we know?  There are still quite some reported GC-related bugs
that nobody has managed to explain.

We have just seen one incident [this thread in fact] where preloading
a file with a keymap defined with a defconst would eventually lead to
a GC error due to modifying pure objects.
