Re: cc-mode totally broken

From: Eric Hanchrow

User-agent: Gnus/5.11 (Gnus v5.11) Emacs/22.0.51 (gnu/linux)

    Symptoms:
cc-mode reports errors, no matter what you do. I did make bootstrap.
...
Eval error in the `c-lang-defvar' for `c-known-type-key': (void-function
mapcan)
c-forward-type: Wrong type argument: stringp, nil

I often see inexplicable errors after doing "make bootstrap". I've
found that, horrible though it sounds, they all go away if I
_completely delete_ my CVS directory, and get a clean checkout, and
start over. I guess there's some flaw in the makefile somewhere that
causes it to fail to rebuild something important.
