After a CVS update this mornig I get:

        coding.c: In function ‘coding_alloc_by_making_gap’:
coding.c:1042: error: ‘c’ undeclared (first use in this function)
coding.c:1042: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
coding.c:1042: error: for each function it appears in.)
        coding.c: In function ‘decode_coding_utf_8’:
coding.c:1311: error: parse error before "else"
        make[2]: *** [coding.o] Error 1

It seems that this is because of incorrect syncing with
HEAD. I've just committed a fix.

Yes, compiles now! And runs, too.
