occasional sigbus or sigpipe with current cvs (2006-03-14)

Another crash :-(

The current cvs occasionally receives a sigbus or sigpipe, in any case
in __kernel_vsyscall. Sometimes when I'm not watching the emacs window
(or it isn't even visible) or doing anything, sometimes on startup,
sometimes on actions (any action, I can't really narrow it down,
sorry. Opening files, saving them, I don't really know).

This happens on a Dell SX 280 running SuSE 10.0, one cpu, smp kernel
2.6.13-15.8-smp
with hyperthreading turned on in the bios.

This GDB was configured as "i586-suse-linux"...Using host libthread_db library
"/lib/tls/libthread_db.so.1".

(recent messages and recent input from M-x report-emacs-bug snipped
because it is irrelevant. The other settings should be similar to the
ones in effect when the crash happened.)

I already reported a very similar (the same?) bug against the
multi-tty branch, but I just discovered that cvs exhibits the same
behaviour.

Hopefully this bug isn't as tricky as the last one I reported.

As always feel free to ask for further information.

Kind regards
     Friedel
