Sorry for some confusion, maybe due to my bad english skills.
Indeed, I meant trailing whitespace before point. When point is at the
end of the line and there is trailing whitespace before point, then
<RET> <TAB> does not remove that whitespace, but 'newline-and-indent'
does. In contrast to this the documentation says that both are
equivalent.
